CELIMO (the European grouping of Associations representing importers/distributors of manufacturing technology) has released an update to its State of Trade Report.  This summarises the economic situation and the current trends for the machine tool and cutting tool market;  it covers 15 countries, 10 of which are members of CELIMO.

The report includes data for GDP growth (or not as the case may be) for 2024 with a forecast for 2025;  alongside this is a snapshot of the latest inflation and unemployment data for each country.  At the industry level, there is a summary of the manufacturing PMI data (Belgium and Finland don’t have a survey for this indicator) and the report concludes with estimated trends for the national markets for machine tools and cutting tools in 2024 and 2025 – note that the latter indicators are only given for the 10 CELIMO member countries.  This is available below.

Alongside the State of Trade Report there is a commentary based on discussion of the report at the recent CELIMO Board meeting – this is only available to MTA family members and can be accessed in the members area of our website at https://www.mta.org.uk/members-area/market-intelligence/global-mt-report/ (scroll down to the 4th item).
