The latest edition of the CECIMO Toolbox has just been released; this covers mainly data for the 1st quarter of 2024, although some of the series are more up to date. The Toolbox document groups information into 6 categories covering historical data for the sector, demand, investment, the business climate, general economic indicators and information on related sectors.

The highlights of the latest report include:

  • CECIMO8 (the largest machine tool producing nations in Europe) Total Orders declined in the first period of 2024.
  • The EU Industrial Production Index (IPI) improved slightly in the first quarter of 2024, indicating a modest uptick in the output of EU manufacturers.
  • The Global Purchasing Managers’ Index reached a favorable zone in February 2024 and is still positive in May 2024.
  • CECIMO MT Production reached almost €27.1 billion in 2023.

You can also access this data via the CECIMO Dashboard which is available in the members area of our website at https://www.mta.org.uk/members-area/cecimo-dashboard: it appears quite small but if you zoom in (Ctrl-key and +-key) it can be made more readable. Many of the charts are interactive and you can download the data in various forms.

The file size of the Toolbox means that we can’t attach it to this page; if you would like to get a copy of the report, you can request it via this link – https://www.cecimo.eu/economic-data/toolbox/. From here, fill in the section for CECIMO Members, and select “MTA” from the drop down menu for the “CECIMO Association you are part of:” – alternatively, if you contact Geoff Noon at MTA (email: [email protected]), we will send it to you by email.
