In a relatively quite week of economic news, the main item is the latest update on European GDP in the 3rd quarter. Overall, this was flat both compared to the previous quarter and with a year earlier, although there are some variations between countries – most notably, Ireland (which is often distorted by the activities of multi-national companies who have their headquarters there) saw a significant reduction which dragged the overall average down. We also have an update on the manufacturing PMI data, which was released last Friday, covering the data that was reported after our publishing deadline.
Finally, the November edition of the MTA Business Survey is still open for your input – the secure online form is at https://www.mta.org.uk/mta-business-survey-nov23 and, with thanks to those who have already responded, we hope you can spare a couple of minutes to give us your input as we compile this quick overview of the situation across the manufacturing technology spectrum in the UK.
That concludes this week’s newsletter! We hope you have a wonderful full of festivities and we look forward to ‘seeing’ you again next week!
