BSI have a new standard for you to comment on. The proposal reads , ‘Test code for machine tools’ – and ‘Part 13: Guidelines on acceptance tests for machine tools used as coordinate measuring machines.’ Take a look at the Scope and Purpose below and don’t forget to contact Sami if you have any comments.
Jack Semple from EAMA has a story regarding The European Commission who has bowed to pressure from industry and is set to abandon plans to ban PFAS and other chemicals it deems to be dangerous, according to The Guardian. The proposed EU ban had caused widespread concern in the UK as well as in Europe. More details can be found below along with a link to the full article.
The Powerstar-Wernick Group introduction was facilitated by Richard Hipkiss, Director of Operations at Elemental Consulting Group. Wernick’s ambition is to be market leader in sustainable manufacturing and have adopted an energy reduction hierarchy across their estate and operations. They see Voltage Optimisation (VO) as one of the first things that should be considered to eliminate any wasted energy. Find out more about Wernick Group in the article below.

As a result, we have launched new websites for all associations, as well as both exhibitions we own. Check out our new sites through the links in the story.
HVMC and Digital Catapult were awarded a grant to run a Made Smarter Sustainability Accelerator programme through which we will help industrial partners fast forward the adoption of digital solutions that deliver Resource Efficiency and Energy Efficiency (REEE). This brings the opportunity to industrial partners investing in the programme to frame their REEE challenge together with HVMC centres and Digital Catapult. More details can be found below.
A great achievement by The University of Sheffield Project Sunfire Team who designed the most powerful student-built engine of its type – an engine that uses both fuel and an oxidiser rather than breathing in oxygen like a jet engine. CECIMO are pleased to invite you to the International Conference on Additive Manufacturing (ICAM), taking place at EMO Hannover 2023. ICAM is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 20th September, from 11:00 to 12:30 in Room 3A of the Convention Centre, conveniently situated within the EMO fairground.
