F1 In Schools are extremely proud to have delivered the amazingly successful Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals 2020(21), which was a live-streamed event, hosted in the UK in June 2021. You can find a couple more details about the event in the story below.
According to a recent study, nearly a quarter (23%) of employees reported feeling burned out during work very often or always, while an additional 44% reported feeling burned out sometimes*. We have an article which reflects on the UK automotive output data published by the SMMT this week; overall, 2021 was not a good year with production of both cars and engines lower than the Covid affected 2020 figures, let alone pre-pandemic levels. The shortage of electronic components is the main issue but demand was also hit by Covid related shutdowns around the world (over 80% of UK built cars are exported).
The general economic news is led by the results of the CBI Industrial Trends Survey which showed an easing in the pace of growth for the sector, although it was still broadly positive. Perhaps the most important news, especially with MACH coming up in April, was the quarterly question on investment intentions data which registered its 4th consecutive double-digit balance, pointing to a strong level of demand for capital equipment in 2022 which is more than just a bounce from the pandemic induced trough.
We also take a look at the flash PMI’s for manufacturing which are suggesting some subtle changes in the manufacturing environment with a move towards increased output as supply chain issues are easing, albeit not universally. The economic news article concludes with a summary of the latest data on investment and profitability in the Euro-zone.
That concludes the end of the January 2022 Friday Briefs! We hope you all enjoyed this week’s stories. Have a lovely weekend, ‘see’ you in February!
