The new government will publish an Employment Bill within its first 100 days in office and has said it will include most of the proposals set out in its plan to make work pay. These changes are the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation and, once implemented, will pose some challenges for employers.
This webinar will follow the expected release of the Employment Bill. We will give updated information on what five of the biggest changes will mean and how to plan for them:
· Introducing the right to claim unfair dismissal from day one
· Banning exploitative zero hours contracts
· Reintroducing liability of employers for staff who are harassed at work by third parties
· Imposing a new duty on employers to notify staff that they have a right to join a union and making it easier for unions to be recognised and get a mandate for strike action
· Strengthening protections for new mothers by making it unlawful to dismiss a woman within six months of her returning to work.
We’ll examine how these proposals might work in practice, explain when they are coming into force and what you need to do to prepare.
The session will be hosted by our award winning employment team. You’ll be able to ask questions and we’ll make the session as interactive as possible.
This session is suitable for HR managers, business owners and line managers.
We hope you are able to join us.
