Last month, BEIS launched a review of the UK’s approach to net zero, led by Conservative MP Chris Skidmore.  That review continues, unaffected by the changes in government, and EAMA has responded to the call for evidence.

EAMA says that government should give greater leadership on net zero – it should explain, show by example and regulate more.   A coherent national programme for improving manufacturing should be developed, based on competitiveness and net zero objectives.

The value of working with trade associations to achieve net zero objectives and to increase exports is highlighted.

EAMA response is published in full here:  https://www.eama.info/downloads/EAMA_response_to_the_Skidmore_review_of_net_zero.pdf

Net zero is an issue that will affect general, energy and technical policy development for many years to come.  We welcome feedback from members.
