At NEIDA, we are thrilled to unveil significant investment and growth milestones for the year 2024. With over 50 years of experience in the manufacture and global supply of precision turned and milled parts, we pride ourselves as one of the UK’s largest suppliers of components. Our unwavering commitment to innovation and quality has propelled us to serve diverse sectors, including electronics, interconnect, automotive, aerospace, medical, and industrial applications.

Expanding Infrastructure to Meet Demand

In 2024, we have undertaken a substantial expansion of our operational footprint. Through the establishment of purpose-built production and warehouse facilities across the UK, our total operational area now exceeds 100,000 square feet. This expansion underscores our dedication to meeting the ever-growing demands of our clients, particularly within our micro section, which specializes in precision components for electronics and interconnect systems. We currently utilize over 100 CNC and CAM machines to manufacture bespoke turned and milled components for some of the most demanding sectors across the globe.

Investment in Advanced Machinery

Our dedication to excellence is vividly reflected in our investment of over £1,600,000 in nine new production machines at our Stoke-on-Trent manufacturing facilities. Among these acquisitions are three Sliding Head Machines and six Escomatic Machines, bringing our total Escomatic machines to 57 and Star machines to 38, which significantly bolster our production capabilities.

The Sliding Head Machines, exemplified by models such as the Star SL10 and Star SW12RII, boast unparalleled precision and versatility. With the capacity to handle parts up to 10mm and 12mm in diameter respectively, these machines excel in executing intricate machining operations with utmost accuracy. Their swift setup times and efficient machining processes significantly enhance productivity while upholding exceptional quality standards.

In addition, our CNC Escomatic Machines, engineered to deliver ultra-high-speed production without compromising on quality. Equipped with cutting-edge CNC technology, these machines offer precise control over machining operations, particularly in the production of small to medium-sized components with intricate geometries. Their efficiency and repeatability make them indispensable assets in high-volume manufacturing environments.

Enhancing Quality Assurance with Optical Inspection Tools

Quality assurance is paramount to our customers. To meet the exacting standards of today’s global markets, we ensure that every aspect of our business adheres to accredited quality procedures and continuous improvement processes.

As part of our accreditation under ISO9001, our documented quality management system ensures a stable process throughout the manufacturing cycle. Utilizing the latest in inspection technologies facilitates the precise quality requirements expected by our customers.

To further fortify our commitment to quality, we have made substantial investments in advanced inspection technologies. Two Automatic Measurement Systems from the IM-8000 Series by Keyence now form an integral part of our quality assurance processes. These state-of-the-art inspection tools empower us to rapidly and accurately measure up to 300 part dimensions on up to 100 parts within seconds. By seamlessly integrating optical inspection technologies, we promptly identify deviations and uphold the highest levels of product quality, meeting the exacting requirements of our diverse clientele.

Supporting Employment Growth and Apprenticeships

Our expansion initiatives have not only enhanced our operational capabilities but have also led to a surge in employment opportunities at our Stoke-on-Trent facility. This growth underscores our unwavering commitment to supporting local employment and contributing to the economic development of the region.

For those seeking hands-on experience and skills development, NEIDA offers Mechanical and Engineering apprenticeship schemes at our manufacturing sites in Stoke-on-Trent and the Isle of Wight. Gain valuable work experience, earn a competitive salary, and obtain a nationally recognized qualification through our apprenticeship programs.
